Job Description:
The Omni Cares Culinary Internship position provides a hands-on training opportunity for future hospitality leaders to learn various aspects of the hotel business. Omni Care Interns are provided a summer internship opportunity that will result in acceptance into our LID (Leader in Development) program at the end of the summer season based upon performance.
Responsibilities:
- Cook and prepare food in outlets and work vaious stations in the kitchen.
- Learn outlet food menus, assist in main kitchen when needed for banquet events.
- Evaluate recipes and food orders and prepare according to standards.
- Partner with Associates at each station of the kitchen, assist when needed.
- Leads by example in the overall Culinary operation of assigned areas
- Communicate with Executive Chef's onDaily follow-up on all product freshness, rotation and development.
- Communicate all safety and sanitation policies through daily dialogue with culinary staff.
- Attend Omni Care Internship training and enrichment seminars through the summer season.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Operations Leader.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Previous experience in culinary is required or attending culinary school.
- Willingness to learn and take on different projects
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, squat, and lean during daily business for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work variety of schedules, morning, evenings, weekends and holidays.
