Role:

This role will have alignment into both the Payment Value-Added Services business and the Trust & Safety technology organizations with primary responsibilities of data architecture. You will immerse yourself in solving complex business problems through innovation and proven and repeatable engineering practice. You will partner with application development teams and other Technology, Operational and Product teams across the group and the firm, developing an extensive personal network that will allow you to influence and provide technical and architectural leadership and mentoring. You will work on a number of projects which will require differing approaches for success and will depend heavily on collaboration with our colleagues to deliver business results.

The Data Owner will be considered the Subject Matter Expert on Data, Information Architecture and Data Management - working closely and collaboratively with the project development teams, ensuring that the design is implementable and that delivery is consistent with the agreed design.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an engaging leader who is passionate about using data to accelerate product development, drive business growth, and improve the customer experience. A successful B2B Supplier Ecosystem Data Owner will be critical to the firm's agenda of enabling the business to drive faster innovation through the strategic use of its data, while simultaneously ensuring that data is of good quality and well-protected. This role is accountable for all data in the B2B Supplier Ecosystem solutions that are created to support strategic business objectives, advanced analytics, business operations, and reporting. The Data Owner serves as a member of the product leadership team, collaborating with the Product Owner, design lead, and technology lead to ensure that the product delivers data in a manner consistent with the quality and safety requirements of the business. The Data Owner also partners with their aligned Trust & Safety and Data & Analytics lead to drive increased business value through the identification of data required to support advanced analytics outcomes such as customer segmentation, personalization, and insights. The Data Owner will be considered the Subject Matter Expert on Data, Information Architecture and Data Management - working closely and collaboratively with the project development teams, ensuring that the design is implementable and that delivery is consistent with the agreed design.

Core Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a strategy for the development and delivery of product data to support strategic business objectives, business operations, advanced analytics, and metrics and reporting.
  • Drive a strong understanding of the data and its use within the business and across lines of business and functions, through collaborative partnerships with multiple stakeholders, including Product Owners, analytics leads, and business process owners. Provide subject matter expertise with respect to the content and use of data in the product and associated business area.
  • Identify and prioritize the scope of critical data within their product, ensuring that the prioritized data is well-documented as to its meaning and purpose, and classified accordingly with metadata to enable its understanding and control
  • Support the Product Owner, B2B Supplier Ecosystem by identifying data required to be integrated into analytics platforms to support projects such as analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Direct the development of processes and procedures to identify, monitor, and mitigate data risks for data in the product, including risks related to data protection, data retention and destruction, data storage, data use, and data quality
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with product data delivery partners and data consumers, including senior leaders in the Business, Technology, Analytics, Operations, Risk and Control functions across lines of business.
  • Effectively drive teams toward a robust set of execution milestones. Understand and mitigate risks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies in the product development lifecycle with respect to data.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of industry experience in a data-related field, with experience in application, data, and infrastructure architecture and design disciplines, including API design
  • Strong experience of several major technology implementation projects
  • Strong data orientation and experienced in data analysis and data mining (hands on experience)
  • Knowledge of core Information Architecture capabilities, including Master and Reference Data Management, Data Quality (DQ), Metadata Management, Data Taxonomy, Data Integration, Data Migration and Data Modelling
  • Structured thinker and effective communicator with excellent written communication skills. Ability to crisply articulate complex technical concepts to senior audiences with poise and confidence.
  • Experience in creating, contributing to and reviewing Architecture and Development artefacts such as Conceptual, Logical and State Data Model's.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture preferred.
  • Understanding of Agile technological development methodology preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
