Transportation Graduate Engineer - Wisconsin

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is looking to expand our services in the state of Wisconsin! Become a member of Westwood’s transportation service team in Wisconsin working as part of a multidisciplinary design team. As part of our team, you will have an opportunity to shape local and regional infrastructure within the community you live. Candidates must have a willingness to perform a variety of civil engineering tasks supporting various project types and project managers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work as a key member of a roadway design team under the direction of a Project Engineer/Project Manager. Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Research and evaluation of data
- Conduct field reviews and other assessments
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations
- Assist with the creation and submission of technical reports, presentations and exhibits
- Prepare detailed construction drawings, including horizontal and vertical alignments; plan and profile; utility design and relocation; streetscape and roadway improvements; bicycle and pedestrian facilities; signing, striping and signalization
- Prepare construction cost estimates/quantity takeoffs
- Coordinate with internal team members, government entities, utility service providers and subconsultants
- Manage task assignments for budget and schedule adherence
- Perform reviews of all work product for accuracy
- Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service
- Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism
Required Skills:
- Outgoing, friendly, approachable
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet project deadlines
- Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior exposure to Autodesk Civil3D, Highway Capacity Software, and Synchro
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to follow directions and guidelines for the firm’s policies, practices, and procedures
Required Experience:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience
- BS in Civil Engineering
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months
