Description:

Responsibilities: o Responsible for developing real-time PCR Assays, including: o Assay optimization o Specificity Testing o Sensitivity Testing o Stability o Performance characteristics such as accuracy, precision o Responsible for performing extraction on various matrices and assisting in development of new extraction methods. o Responsible for validation of real-time PCR Assays for use in a CLIA laboratory o Write and edit Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) o Must follow all laboratory procedures and policies o Maintain records and logs o Assist in quality control/improvement activities o Assist in the transfer of new technologies to the CLIA team

BS Degree required plus 2-3 years of experience 1. Describe in a few sentences the day-to-day activity of the role. This is a R&D position. Most days will be spent in the lab. After experiment(s) are performed, data will be shared and discussed with supervisors. Based on the outcome of those experiments, new experiments will be designed and the process will repeat. 2. What education is required? Typically a BS in Bio, BioChem or Micro would work well. 3. What specific experience/Molecular Assays are required/preferred? Experience with Real-Time PCR or QPCR is required. They are the platform used to run all of our assays 4. How much experience is required, can it be from school or must be industry? (I have 2-3 for tech; 3-5 for Lead including supervising – please confirm) Confirmed but able to be flexible based on an individuals candidates experience. Currently we are looking to pay for $26 p/hr. to $35 p/hr. for the associate to the lead role, depending on experience/education/etc. Any candidates outside of this range will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
