Singer offers message of support to Yeltsin

Mick Jagger reportedly sent a mid-coup facsimile transmission of support for Boris Yeltsin and his advocates to the Russian parliament that was much appreciated by members of the government.

Artemy Troitsky, head of the Russian television networks and also a rock journalist, wants to bring Jagger to the country for a victory concert, reported the San Jose Mercury News.

“Rock music symbolizes freedom and unity,” Troitsky said. “Mick’s support means more to young Soviet people than any politician’s pledge.”

“We are…hoping to bring the Stones to Moscow,” affirmed Troitsky.
